LED Pulse Testing

A pulse current source that can rapidly control circuit current by integrating an electronic load in series.

Electronic load devices are generally used as sinks to evaluate power supplies, but when used in conjunction with a DC regulated power supply, they can be used as a constant current source to quickly output current. Using the sequence function of the electronic load, it can be used as a pulse current source that generates high-speed and complex waveforms.

The diagram shows the wiring between a DC regulated power supply and electronic load equipment, with a DUT (LED) in between. The current pulled by the electronic load equipment is applied as pulse current to the test object in the circuit path. In other words, the electronic load equipment can not only perform pulse operations but also sequential operations, suitable for various high-speed current application tests.

Feature

  1. Capable of constructing high-current pulse sources at low cost.

Using this electronic load device allows you to construct a pulse current source at low cost, and by changing the settings of the electronic load device, you can alter the output voltage level, frequency, and duty cycle.

  2. The electronic load device does not require high power.

LED standard drive voltage is about 1.5V, so it only needs to bear the power burden of around 1.5V multiplied by the peak current. Even for pulse currents in the tens of amperes, models as low as 175W are sufficient for use.

  3. Can be used as a constant current source for various devices.

It can also be used for constant current and transient assessments, such as LED devices, surface treatment (electroplating) equipment, pulse charging of batteries, fuse blowing, and current sensing.
