Q1 | How about the sweep range of AFG-3000?? |
The frequency range of sweep function is 100uHz ~ 80(3081)/50(3051)MHz, the time range of sweep is 1ms ~ 500s.
Q2 | What sweep mode does the AFG-3000 support? |
The sweep function is set to INT / EXT / manual three kinds of interfaces starting, and can be set LOG / LIN lesions.
Q3 | Which carrier is suitable for PWM modulated signal of the AFG-3000? |
Square.
Q4 | Which carrier is suitable for FSK modulated signal of the AFG-3000? |
Sine, Square, Triangle, Ramp, Pulse.
Q5 | Which carrier is suitable for FM modulated signal of the AFG-3000? |
Sine, Square, Triangle, Ramp.
Q6 | Which carrier is suitable for AM modulated signal of the AFG-3000? |
Sine, Square, Triangle, Ramp, Pulse, Arb
Q7 | How to calculate the DC Offset of the AFG-3000? |
The unit of the DC Offset is -5V ~ +5 V, but it can’t exceed the minimum and maximum of setting values (-5V ~ +5 V) for the signal of the AFG-3000. For example, if a signal is-3V ~ +3 V, the setting range for DC Offset is at most -2 ~ +2 V. Because the addition and subtraction of the maximum and the minimum is at most 5V or +5 V.
Q8 | What is the setting range for the waveform symmetry of the AFG-3000’s Ramp? |
The symmetry of ramp waveform is between 0% ~ 100%
Q9 | What is the setting range for the AFG-3000's Pulse width? |
The Pulse width AFG-3000 provided is mainly from the reciprocal of the frequency range Sec = 1/Freq. For directly setting, The Pulse is been conversed within the range about 5% to 95%. For example, the Pulse at 1kHz Waveform can be set respectively between the range the minimum and maximum 50nsec and maximum 950nsec.
Q10 | What is the duty cycle range in square waveform in the AFG-3000 serials? |
The duty cycle of square waveforms depends on the frequency settings.
20% to 80% (frequency < 25 MHz)
40% to 60% (25 MHz < frequency < 50 MHz)
50% (frequency > 50 MHz)
Q11 | The AFG-3081 supports up to 80MHz. Does it mean it support all waveform at 80MHz? |
In generally, the function generator specify a max output frequency range, it is only for the sine waveform. Other waveforms all have a limited frequency range. For example:the AFG-3081 arbitrary function generator, its sine and square both waveforms can output maximum frequency of 80MHz. But its triangle (sawtooth) waveform only output maximum frequency of 1MHz.
Q12 | Square symmetry at 100kHz |
On GW Instek’s function generator of GFG/SFG Series, the symmetry specification of square waveform is almost at 100kHz, but the square is more big than 100kHz, why not define the symmetry range and square frequency range on the same range??
