Q1 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png What is the GSP-830 software version and how is the allocation?

Thru System - F6(more..) - F4(System Configuration) Open, Press F4 (System Configuration) to exit for Close. The software version will be shown for which Option installed.

Q2 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png Which GSP-830 accessory kit set cannot be installed in the mean time?

OPT 05:9KHz & 120KHz RBW (EMI OPT)
OPT 06:10KHz & 100KHz RBW
OPT 07:AM/FM Demodulation & 10KHz & 100KHz RBW

Only one optional can be available for installation in 3 options, not all the options can be chosen to install in the mean tme.

Q3 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png How does a spectrum analyzer differ from an oscilloscope?
  • The analyzed signal by a spectrum analyzer is the signal field; power signifies the LCD vertical axis, in dBm; frequency signifies a horizontal axis, in Hz.
  • An oscilloscope analyzes the signal for its time zone, the LCD vertical axis signifies Voltage, in V; the horizontal axis signifies Time, in S (second).
Q4 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png If I would like to measure unknown signals, how shall I measure?

If an end customer doesn’t know about signal frequency range yet the signal is sent stably (e.g., sent by SG signal):

  1. In Full span open mode, spot the signal frequency using Peak search
  2. Drag to the central display area using Peak to Center function
  3. Set the Span and Reference Level to view the optimal frequency range
  4. Spot the more adequate frequency point and signal intensity by pressing Peak Search once

If an end customer doesn’t know about a signal frequency range and the signal is instable hopping signal (e.g., the mobile signal is the hopping signal).

  1. In Full span open mode, capture the frequency range using the PK Hold function of Trace
  2. Drag the signal to the central display area until the waveform remains stable by using the Peak to center function of the Peak Search
  3. Set the Span scope and Reference Level to view the optimal frequency range
  4. Press Peak Search to acquire the optimal frequency point and signal intensity, while PK Hold enables a stable waveform.
Q5 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png What the GSP-830 provide for Amplitude unit?

The GSP-830 provides 3 units: dBm, dBmV, dBuV. The default is dBm, the scope is:The GSP-830 provides 3 units: dBm, dBmV, dBuV. The default is dBm, the scope is:

dBm: -110 ~ +20dBm
dBmV: -63.01 ~ +26.99dBmV
dBuV: -3.01 ~ +126.99dBuV

Q6 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png How many Marker functions can the GSP-830 provide?

The GSP-830 provides Marker functions which have 2 expressions: for Marker, there’re 5 sets of Normal-to-delta sub functions or 10 sets of Normal sub functions available for users under Peak Search function mode.

Q7 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png Whether or not does the GSP-830 provide LabView Driver?

The GSP-830 provides no LabView Driver, only Command List relevant to the fact that program writers are enabled to code telecommunication instructions in familiar program language.

Q8 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png What’s the name for the GSP-Series PC software?

The GSP-827/830 provides the EagleShot PC software (free software) RS-232 and USB (Only GSP-830) connection. The GSP-810 PC software is Remote Control Software, for free and optional. The differences lie in the fact that the Optional version is for remote control; the Free version provides only simultaneous GSP-810 data thru software.

Q9 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png How is the resolution provided by the GSP-830?

The resolution provided by the GSP-830 LCD is 640x480. Each display used for measurement provides 501 pixels responding to measurement, (X, Y)=501 pixels, actually except for status bar and Help bar.

Q10 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png How can I preliminarily confirm whether it is good or not when I get the GSP-830?

There are several approaches to determine machines. In the simplest way, the GSP-830 has equipped itself with the built-in calibration signal (100MHz, -30dBm) and triggers the signal after turning on and stabilizing itself (in 30 minutes). If the signal is not within the spec, there may be something wrong with instruments. In the other hand, whether Pass can be confirmed or not with Memory and LO in the system, all these have better descriptions.

Q11 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png Why is there no EMI Mode available for EagleShot download from website?

If there is no Option 05: EMI Filter installed on the GSP-830, EMI Mode cannot be available on EagleShot.

Q12 gw_product_detail_bar.png gw_product_detail_bar.png Does the GSP-830 has Average and Peak Hold Functions to display on the screen?

The GSP-830 provides 3 different Trace color availabilities. A user can configure different Trace functions, e.g., Trace A for Normal status, Trace B for Average function, Trace C for Pk hold, to view 3 different traces on the display.
